The fourth Green IT Awards ceremony took place on May 9th at the Grand Connaught Rooms in London.
Showcasing and rewarding the technology, tools and solutions as well as the companies and organisations that have made a significant contribution to improving the IT industry's environmental performance over the past 12 months, the Green IT Awards have also become the event where the industry gets together to network, exchange thoughts and ideas, and dare we say it, have a little bit of fun as well!
Over 140 supporting guests gathered to see the outcome of the readers on line voting and judging panel’s deliberations.
The foundations for a great evening were laid with some fantastic support from our sponsors for this year, BCS The Chartered Institute for IT, Iomart Hosting and ReadSoft. Our huge thanks go to them for their support.
The evening started with a drinks reception which allowed everyone to catch up with old friends and start to make new ones. Following a short speech from Richard French from BCS The Chartered Institute for IT and a superb 3 course dinner, we were entertained by Stephen Grant, star of many, TV and radio shows. Following Stephen we were delighted to welcome Sarah Fraser from Rainforest Concern who gave us the background on the winner’s awards for 2013, which were the sponsorship of 1 acre of rainforest in The Choco Andean Rainforest Project in northwest Equador, so helping to preserve the bio-diversity found in the region. The 2013 awards ceremony then commenced and the results of the voting and judges deliberations are set out below. Our congratulations to you all.
