The 2008 DM Awards ceremony was certainly a ‘towering success’ by any standards: held in the shadow of the Tower of London and Tower Bridge, this year’s celebrations built on the staggering success of our inaugural event last year. With almost 200 luminaries from the document and content management industry in attendance, guest attendance was up around 30% on 2007. Once again the crowd was entertained by comedian Stephen Grant before the serious business of the night, the awards presentations.
With awards ranging from hardware to software, storage to compliance, and projects involving household names and government departments, there was something for everyone, recognising the very best from across our industry.
For the second year running Fujitsu won 'Company of the Year', while the first 'AIIM Project of the Year' award went to IBML for its work at Lloyds TSB Bank. Scanner awards went to some big names in Kodak and Fujitsu, but the overall hardware winner was Milton Keynes data capture specialist DRS, proving that volume sales isn't everything!
DM Magazine Editor Dave Tyler commented after the event: “This was a terrific night for the industry, with so many new names among the winners as well as the established players. I was delighted to see our readers recognising advances in the industry from such firms as Stortext, Cygent and ITESOFT as well as the ‘usual suspects’ such as Kofax and AVNET. Voting numbers were up significantly on last year, and I look forward to an even bigger night next year!”
Full details of all the winners and runners-up can be found inthe Nov/Dec issue of Document Manager magazine.
